Car Seat Safety Workshop

  • Posted On:

(LANCASTER, CA – March 31, 2023) – Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC), in partnership with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for the Antelope Valley are hosting a free car seat safety workshop. Information will cover how to properly install a car seat; in addition, participants will be able to practice with dolls and a car seat simulator.

Countless children are injured or killed every year, due to their child passenger safety seats not being properly installed. According to the CHP, most collisions occur within a mile of the home; another reminder to always properly secure your child in a safety seat, no matter how short the trip is.

“It’s important to bring this information to the public in order to keep infants and toddlers safe. As new parents welcome their little ones home, it’s often overwhelming and confusing, so we thank our partners for this collaboration to bring education and highlight this topic,” said Jean Cummings, MSN, RNC-NIC, Women & Infant Pavilion Director, Antelope Valley Medical Center.

Media are invited to interview participants and staff; and take photos of the event. Safety demonstrations provided.
