“I decided to bring him to the ER at AVH (Antelope Valley Hospital), where without hesitation they ran every test they could on him to try to diagnose him.”

I had taken him to (another) Hospital, where we waited for 11-hours because they had forgotten to check him in. Once they finally did see him, they were with him for at best 5-minutes. I decided to bring him to the ER at AVMC (Antelope Valley Medical Center), where without hesitation they ran every test they could on him to try to diagnose him. Within 30 minutes of us being here the NP, Ernie, was checking on him constantly. He approached Benji caringly and understandingly, as he is a 3-year-old. Ryan the x-ray tech was also really great with him. While he was getting tests done, he was given a doll which we were told was a Shadow Buddy, donated by the Shadow Buddies Foundation and the George Paul Foundation. Benji held it when they did the finger prick for his blood test, he said the doll was his BFF. Overall, compared to past experiences I’ve had, the care here at AVMC has changed for the better.
