On her way home from graduation practice, Katelyn’s life took an unexpected turn. A car accident left her hospitalized and unable to attend her graduation ceremony at Lancaster High School.
Despite the circumstances, Katelyn and her family were overwhelmed with gratitude when the school’s faculty visited her at Antelope Valley Medical Center to personally present Katelyn with her high school diploma. As fate would have it, Katelyn was also her graduating class valedictorian. Although this may be a moment she will never forget, she has a bright future ahead of her as she plans to attend UC San Diego later this year.
The family is thankful for the incredible support they have received from their “tribe” as her mother described family, friends, hospital staff, and the entire Lancaster High School community.
“We wish her a speedy recovery, and she is an Eagle for life”, said Carlos Davis, Lancaster High School Assistant Principal.
Congratulations Katelyn!! On behalf of Antelope Valley Medical Center, we wish you a healthy start to the next chapter of your life, and hope you have a well-deserved celebration when you’re back home with loved ones.
