|

The Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) Auxiliary proudly awarded $1,000 scholarships to 12 local graduating high school students, reinforcing its more than 20-year commitment to supporting future medical professionals in the Antelope Valley.

Selected from a competitive pool of 25 applicants, each scholarship recipient demonstrated academic excellence, with a minimum 3.5 grade point average, and has been accepted into a healthcare-related program at an accredited college, university, or technical school.

“Each year, we are inspired by the passion and dedication of these students,” said Fran Beckerman, Scholarship Chairman, AVMC Auxiliary. “By investing in their education, we are helping to build the next generation of caregivers who will strengthen the health of our community.”

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

The Antelope Valley Medical Center Auxiliary raises funds for the hospital through the hospital gift shops, New to You Thrift Shop, and other seasonal fundraising events. This year, thanks to the generosity of two committee members, the auxiliary was able to award two additional scholarships. In addition to its annual health career scholarships program, some of the auxiliary’s past pledges benefited the Women and Infants Pavilion, OB clinics, neonatal intensive care unit, emergency department expansion, and state-of-the-art equipment for the critical care unit.
