Antelope Valley Medical Center and OneLegacy to Host Special Event to Unveil the Floral Portrait of Teen Organ Donor, Micah Moyer, Ahead of the Rose Parade

  • Posted On:

Moyer will be honored with a floragraph on the 2026 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float

What:

Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) is cohosting a special event with OneLegacy to honor the family of Micah Moyer, who helped heal lives as an organ and tissue donor, and whose floral portrait will be featured on the 2026 OneLegacy Donate Life float: Treasure Every Moment Together.

Micah, 17, had told his sister, Brittany, that he'd like to play baseball all his life. He looked up to his cousin, who had played four years of college baseball. His favorite team was always the Angels, and he celebrated many of his birthdays at a live game. He played shortstop and catcher, starting almost every AAE Knights' game since his freshman year. At the end of the 2024 regular season, Micah led his team and league in 5 offensive categories. In the postseason, the Knights advanced all the way to the semifinal game, which they lost by one run. Less than two weeks later, Micah and his mother Cheryl died in a car collision. Micah was always looking for ways to help others, and his four siblings unanimously agreed that he would wish to help others by donating his organs for transplantation. Micah saved four lives by donating his heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas. Antelope Valley Medical Center, OneLegacy and his loved ones honor his legacy.
