Women's Imaging Center
Advanced Breast Imaging and Mammography Services
At Antelope Valley Medical Center, we are committed to providing comprehensive cancer care and advanced diagnostic services close to home. Our Women's Imaging Center offers state-of-the-art breast imaging technology and specialized expertise designed to support the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of breast disease.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, and approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. Early detection through routine mammograms remains one of the most effective tools for improving outcomes.
Our Women's Imaging Center provides compassionate, patient-centered care in a comfortable environment, supported by dedicated mammography technologists and radiologists specializing in women's imaging.
Services Offered
Screening Mammography
Routine screening mammograms help detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, often before symptoms develop. Regular screening plays a critical role in identifying abnormalities when treatment options are most effective.
Diagnostic Mammography
Diagnostic mammograms are performed when additional imaging is needed to evaluate a specific concern, such as a lump, breast pain, or an abnormal screening result.
3D Mammography with Tomosynthesis
AVMC utilizes advanced 3D mammography technology, also known as breast tomosynthesis, which captures multiple images of the breast from different angles. This technology provides highly detailed images that can improve the detection of breast abnormalities and reduce the need for additional imaging.
Breast Biopsy Services
When further evaluation is needed, our team offers minimally invasive breast biopsy procedures to help determine the nature of suspicious findings.
Needle Localizations
Needle localization procedures assist surgeons in accurately identifying non-palpable breast abnormalities before surgery.
Stereotactic Breast Procedures
Using specialized imaging guidance, stereotactic procedures allow for precise evaluation and biopsy of breast abnormalities detected during mammography.
