Volunteer Application Process

Volunteer Screening Process

• Application – You may pick up an application in the Volunteer office or download a copy here.
• Volunteers Under 18 – Must be 15 years of age and enrolled in high school before starting.
• Background Checks – Mandatory for applicants 18 years or older and not in high school.
• High School Transcript – A current report card is required upon applying. Grades and attendance will be considered to determine eligibility.
• Interview – You’ll be scheduled for an interview once completed application and required documents are submitted.

Volunteer Requirements

• A minimum of 200 hours of service is required. Shifts are typically four hours per week.
• TB Tests – Two TB tests are required for all new volunteers. This will be provided free of charge.
• Orientation – Is mandatory and required prior to beginning service.
• Volunteer Uniform – Volunteers must purchase a uniform shirt ($25 cost) and are responsible for purchasing tan pants and white tennis shoes. This uniform is required while the volunteer is on shift.
