Community Invited to Attend Antelope Valley Medical Center’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

  • Posted On:

LANCASTER, Calif. December 11, 2019 — The community is invited to attend the annual Antelope Valley Medical Center (AV Hospital) tree lighting ceremony this Thursday, December 12, from 4:30 – 6 p.m., just outside the main hospital entrance.

The AV Hospital Christmas tree is a live pine tree that was planted in front of the hospital more than 20 years ago to honor the memory of a young patient who passed away due to complications from cystic fibrosis. To prepare for this annual event, the AV Hospital engineering department spent two days stringing more than 2,000 lights and 100 decorations on the tree.

“We are proud to kick-off the holiday season with such a meaningful tradition. We welcome the entire community to come out and join us for a beautiful celebration that honors our patients, staff and the entire community,” said CEO Ed Mirzabegian.

Festivities include a performance by the Antelope Valley Showcase Chorus Sweet Adelines, along with hot chocolate and other goodies.
