When your heart or blood vessels need medical care, put them in the skilled
hands of the top cardiologists, interventional radiologists, surgeons,
and vascular specialists at Antelope Valley Medical Center. Our Institute
for Heart & Vascular Care opened in 2014 to offer advanced cardiovascular
care in one location. The Institute is located in the
main hospital near the hospital’s
Emergency Department.
Heart Condition Diagnostics
The experts at the Institute for Heart & Vascular Care utilize both
noninvasive and invasive technology to ensure each patient is thoroughly
assessed and has access to the most appropriate treatment. The IHVC features
2 cardiac catheterization laboratories (“cath labs”), which
provide high-resolution images of the heart and vascular system. This
allows for rapid diagnoses of patients with cardiac arrhythmia, coronary,
valvular, and other heart diseases.
New technologies offer many noninvasive and minimally invasive options
to treat most heart and vascular conditions. At the Institute for Heart
& Vascular Care, we strive to use the least invasive therapeutic option
possible to allow our patients quicker recovery time, so they can get
back to their everyday activities as quickly as possible.
We perform a range of therapeutic procedures, including:
Angioplasty
Coronary and peripheral artery stenting
Atherectomy
Structural Heart Disease Management

Cardiovascular Risk Calculator
Together with your healthcare provider, you can use the
Cardiovascular Risk Calculator to help you determine how likely you are to develop heart disease. This
cardiovascular risk assessment tool uses personal health information to
calculate a 10-year and lifelong risk of heart disease. The information
can help you take steps to reduce your risk---lifestyle changes or medications
that may help prevent life-threatening heart problems.
